One of the most popular local artists of Skopelos is the ship builter Triantafulos Mpountalas.
Born on Skopelos on 1927 began very young to work with his father - also a ship carpender - at "Tarsanades" (dock yards) on the island.
In 1972 due to dock yard ban, he turned to micro ship building, creating ever since small master pieces, sailboat images, that everyone can see all the details of a real ship. With his son John and his daugther Nina, they create ship models on scale.

The construction of a model ship can take months or even a year. The visitor can visit his work room on Skopelos island and admire his artifacts.
