Natural beauties
of Skopelos
The island's natural
beauty and picturesque scenery are two of the most characteristic elements
of Skopelos. Enchanting landscapes, each one connected with a legend or
a tradition. Let's have a look at some of them; the remaining ones you
will discover on your own when you will finally visit Skopelos.

St. John
"of the small castle" (sto kastri),
As if it arrived
here from far away Meteora. Connected by a narrow piece of land
to Skopelos appears St. John sto Kastri. Awe and wonder overcome
you when you see it for the first time, and also when you climb
up the steps, hewn into the sides of the rock, to its peak and the
picturesque chapel.
Let's
get to know it better

We mention constantly
the island's forests but they are in fact one of the elements that
distinguish it.
Do you see the
small pine tree hanging from the rock? And concerning the little
island, the one up to the left is called "Cock", the one next to
it "Hen". I don't think that an explanation is necessary. This view
appears when you approach the lovely beach of Staphylos.

The
natural small harbor of "Blo", next to Panormos, offers shelter to
all vessels, small and large. |
 |
Beautiful
scenery everywhere, one is reminded that Skopelos is magical not only
in July and August but all year round. |
There are other elements,
too, which compose a unique natural environment. Lovely beaches, caves,
wells with gurgling waters and many more. Most of the beaches we will
get to know better later on.
