Glisteri

Skopelos: The green jewel of the Aegean sea in Greece and the Mediterranean Sea.

Glisteri: A beautiful beach with crystal clear waters and the imprint of wildlife to your every glance.

In the northern part of the verdant island of Skopelos, 4 km from the main village of Skopelos, is the beach Glisteri.

In Glisteri meet the traditional life, the taste of the clear sea and good service.

At the family's tavern George Kosmas "The Old Shipyard", from 1986 ,his lady " Kyratso Kosmas " making history" in cooking.

Indeed it is no coincidence that so many TV cooking shows have been devoted to Kyratso

Her name is connected with the best fish soup, the grouper stew, wonderful fried cheese , the dish of the fishermen, the lobster, and cooking wild goat of our production.

Also, enjoy fresh fish and seafood for all budgets and the home made pie of Kyratso.

Also, there is a Bar with drinks, coffee and juices. Try also the delicious desserts of Kyratso as milk pie.

In the "Old Shipyard", the site where it currently operates the eponymous tavern, until 40 years ago by local craftsmen manufactured boats (wooden from the pine trees of Skopelos), which proudly dominate the Aegean.

The history of Skopelos tells us that 19 large ships of Skopelos that were participate in the Revolution of 1821, were built here in Glisteri.

Additionally, you can admire the unique corner of family folklore that is comparable and probably much richer than the Folklore Museum of Skopelos. It presents many aspects of everyday life in our island over the past two centuries.

The report is divided into two parts: The first part is concentrated various agricultural implements, and tools from the "Old Shipyard".

On the other side is set up a Skopelitan home with traditional hand carved furniture, Skopelitan embroidery, traditional costumes and more.

You can still admire a unique collection of goat bells, perhaps the largest collection in Greece, which has collect Mr George Cosmas from all over Greece.

The asphalt Skopelos - Glisteri is 4 km and offers a unique view of the north side of the island.

Also you can get to Glisteri by boat from the port of Skopelos (in front ANEMOS CAFE), where from daily begins every hour and passes through the caves "Tripiti" and the "Dragon's Lair" (Big Cave).

Finally, you can swim to the beach that is fully organised with umbrellas, chairs and shower.

Our clients are many and all come back for the delicious dishes of our mother.

We expect for you from mid May until late September to please you from the bottom of our hearts, our taste, as well as the excellent quality and our service!

Glisteri Nisi area film location of MAMMA MIA movie.

Many of the scenes of the movie MAMMA MIA that made world famous Skopelos, filmed in the land owned by our family above Glisteri beach.

So the only scene that has remain from the point of shooting at the position Glisteri is the stoned arc of the Villa Donna (that was the supposed home of Meryl Streep), which arc is now in Glisteri at the entrance of our restaurant.

You can photographed in front of the arc as the Holywood stars who also were very simple and approachable people.
