GROUNDS
Karya Country Escapes sits on a 8000 m2 of private land which dates back to at least 180 years of history.
The land itself was passed on from generation to generation and its primary use was as a Plum orchard. Our ancestors use to live here year round, when the area of Karya was a much bigger than it is today.
A natural spring can also be found within a 2 minute walk from the premises, the spring of 'Krya Vrisi'.
FACILITIES
Organic Farming:
The guests of Karya Country Escapes can exclusively indulge in our organic mixed vegetable garden while staying at our premises. Feel free to walk down to the garden and pick your own vegetables for the day. We believe that the produce is more delicious when you decide what your salad for the day will include.
The family has been producing for generations its own organic garden, like it will produce for your benefit (late July through early September). You can be guided through the process of how to grow your own small organic garden or involve yourself in the maintenance of it, with the guided help of the owners.

Transfers
Once you arrive on the port of Skopelos you will be met by a representative, who will escort you to the premises.
Cleaning
At our premises you will be provided with cleaning services and linen change twice a week. Additional cleaning service can be arranged upon request and is subject to extra charge.

- They were designed by the German Architect Peter Pfeifer having in mind some fundamental principles:
- Combine traditional architecture without compromising modern day comforts and practicalities.
- Numerous balcony doors all around the cottages for surround views and natural ventilation.
- Direct access to the beautiful nature and the surrounds from any point within the buildings.
- "Energy friendly" buildings towards the environment and the surrounds.
- - No - petrol heating units installed, solar power units used instead.
- - No - harmful air -conditioning units installed, natural ventilation throughout the cottages.
- The swimming pool water is cleaned and double filtered by a mechanism that requires minimum use of chemical agents, re-filtering the water more frequently and efficiently than the conventional ways.
- In "Sendoukia" cottage individual wooden roofs were constructed for each room giving you an extra sense of independency while being in the same house. The roof of the living room area is a unique work of art decorated with traditional wood sculptures.

- COUNTRY WALKS
The entire area of Karya is full of walks, paths and trails waiting to be discovered. My favourite walks are towards "Sendoukia"area and the "Observatory"with its panoramic, magnificent views of the Sporades island and Evia. It is also the highest point of Skopelos.
- BIRD WATCHING
In order to make your Bird Watching experience more pleasant and organised, the premises offer to you the following:

- SKY WATCHING
At Karya Country Escapes you can stop pondering about the Universe and its secrets and how the stars could look like through a telescope.
There is literally 'ZERO' light pollution in the area, which makes it ideal for sky watching. In our premises you will have the opportunity to use a state of the art telescope and let your mind wonder for hours in the "Dark side of the Moon".
- MOUNTAIN BIKING
No matter how experienced you are with the exciting sport of Mountain Biking we can accommodate all your needs by providing you with the necessary gear needed (fully equipped mountain bikes helmets gloves etc)
Meet the owner:
Andonis was born in Skopelos Island and grew up there until he finished school. He then went on to study at Oxford Brookes University, UK, "Hotel & Catering Management" and since then, worked in international Hotel Chains in the U.S.A. and Greece.
He lived away from Skopelos for 12 yrs before he decided to move back and build his dream in the country where visitors will discover the hidden side of the island.
Combining stunning views to the sea, breathtaking sunrises to the east to lush forests and habitats, plus a variety of activities he has organised for your visit, he guarantees a gratifying holiday, both mentally and physically, that you will never pass on as your usual Greek island visit.
Karya Country Escapes is ideal for guests who are in need of the ultimate relaxation holiday and love getting in touch with nature, (yet only 7km from the main town of Skopelos).
