Both villas sit on a huge piece of the Kosmas family land consisting of 150,000 m2. Wild goats and a private collection of wild deer, (the Mediterranean dama-dama) roam the forest which runs down the slope in front of the house and back up the other side meeting the family owned church of Analypsis dating back to 1670. Natural springs are also found on the property, along with Gelali spring and Karia spring where clear, fresh water flows from the earth. The archaeological site of Sendoukia is very close (10min. drive, and 15min.uphill) where one can see the stone sarcophagus carved in the hard rock.
Entering the private driveway of Minoas villa which is located on the main road you find yourself at the pool area covered with golden yellow concrete blocks and the astonishing view of the tree covered hills and the sea beneath.
The unique pool with its flying fish mosaics and blue tiles has been designed and constructed by the owners of the villa Vasso and Spyros Kosmas along with the Minoan style of the building referring to the ancient history of the islands΄ colonization by Stafilos the Minoan prince back in 1600s B.C. The columned villa is painted in terracotta, blue and golden yellow. There is a ramp leading from the sun terrace to the shaded one and the villa giving easy access to disabled persons. The corner column is refreshing its foot in the shallows of the pool giving another playful connection to the villa with the water.
Through the main door you come to the spacious open-plan sitting-room /kitchen area which is fully air-conditioned. It is furnished with a spacious wooden dining table and corner sofa. There are comfortable lounging chairs. There is also a built-in piece of furniture containing books, the TV set and the radio and CD player. The bedrooms are situated on opposite sides of the sitting room offering the utmost of privacy to their occupants.
This design is great especially for two couples holidaying together. One bedroom has two single beds and the other is furnished with one double bed. All rooms have windows facing east and magnificent view of the sea. Each bedroom has identical en-suite W/C shower rooms.
The interior wall paintings of the sitting-room and bedrooms of Villa Minoas are hand painted by the owner Vasso Kosma who is a well known local artist. They depict various scenes from the Minoan period and are authentic copies of original wall paintings. This interesting touch lends another historical atmosphere to this unique and imaginative villa.
Spyros Kosmas and his wife Vasso are both artists. They designed the villa in an effort to recreate a sense of mystique and history. The outstanding place where the villa sits makes it easy to imagine an ancient palace overlooking the hills and the boats coming and going to the harbor. Stafilos the Minoan prince occupied the island in approximately 1600 BC and established a colony with his brother Peparithos who gave his name to the island. Evidence of his life on the island was confirmed by the discovery of a royal grave at the premises of a little cove called Stafilos in 1936. It contained a unique golden sword a diadem, seal stones vases and other significant artifacts being displayed at the archaeological Museum of Athens in a special box.
On arrival you will be met at the port of Skopelos to get driving instructions to the villa, or transfer if arranged, a map to get to your property independently and general instructions .Τhere is also the possibility of a rented car waiting for you at the port.
