HOW TO GET CLOSE TO SKOPELOS BY AIR
Skiathos International Airport also serves our islands, Skopelos and Alonissos, which do not have airports, as well as the nearby mainland areas.

Skopelos does not have an airport. However, you can use nearby airports and continue your journey to the island by ferry, provided there is a corresponding connection. Many visitors also choose to combine their holidays with more than one island in the region.
In recent years, ferry connections have significantly improved, offering more routes that allow smooth connections with flights. Nevertheless, it is always recommended to check ferry schedules in combination with your flight tickets, in order to choose the best possible connection for your trip.
The nearby island of Skiathos is connected through Skiathos International Airport “Alexandros Papadiamantis” (JSI) with direct flights from Athens (Athens – Skiathos – Athens). Flights from Athens operate daily and usually run once or twice per day.
During the tourist season, Skiathos also receives dozens of direct and charter flights from many European cities, making it the main gateway to the Northern Sporades islands.
The airport is located very close to Skiathos Town and its port, approximately five minutes by taxi. In addition to Skiathos, it also serves the nearby islands of Skopelos and Alonissos, which do not have airports.

Regarding ferry tickets from Skiathos to Skopelos and Alonissos, there is almost always availability on conventional ferries. On the other hand, availability on high-speed vessels (catamarans and hydrofoils) is more limited and requires extra attention, especially during the high tourist season.
Particular attention is needed on days of increased demand, mainly on morning departures from Skopelos and Alonissos to Skiathos, especially on Fridays and also on other peak season days, when very high or even full occupancy is often observed, particularly on high-speed vessels.
For greater convenience and peace of mind, it is recommended to book tickets in advance in these cases.
