Agios Ioannis Monastery at Kotronaki: The monastery of Agios Ioannis is located SE of the town of Skopelos at Kotronaki, which was named as such due to a rocky hill.

The church of St. John was built in the 18th c. and it belonged to the monastery of Lavra on Mount Athos.

The church is a single-aisled basilica.

The temple is very old, while among the many icons kept in the monastery there is an interesting 18th c. icon of the Ascension.
